The Windmill, the second instalment of Dominique Cheminais' Many Shallows series, offers a fictionalised account of the life of Milena Jesenská, Franz Kafka’s second great love.

On the occasion of the launch of The Windmill in proto~, Dominique took up residence in Goods at A4 Arts Foundation, which saw her paint the foundation's electric-blue goods entrance with characters from the novel, spilling across the walls, ceiling and adjacent doors.

This limited edition of The Windmill contains an original drawing by Dominique and is cased in a dust jacket produced by proto~ in collaboration with the author.
