A sew-on patch inspired by Ponte City – a 54-storey apartment building that dominates Johannesburg’s skyline – as it appears on the 2013 Steidl edition of Mikhael Subotzky and Patrick Waterhouse’s expanded photobook. Revisiting the archives and associated materials that comprise their 17-year engagement with the high-rise building, the artists are currently prototyping exhibition strategies and pedagogical tools as part of an ongoing research project, Ponte City book towers, at A4 Arts Foundation, 9 January 2023–1 November 2025.
