
This book sets out to find some examplesof South African architecture which in the opinion of Maciek Miszewski enhance the quality of life. The survey ranges from the nomadic culture of the bushman to massive highrise complexes like the Carlton Centre in teeming Johannesburg. It shows the wealth of architecture in Southern Africa and its preoccupation with human scale. But essentially it is a picture of today, of what exists now, of how we live, work and play.
