The author, William Fehr, has signed both the book and the letter included to Frank Bradlow, whose ex-libris plate is on the verso of the front end page. The letter reads thus: "Dear Frank, Very many thanks to you for your kind and, as usual, very generous letter of congratulation on the proposed honour to be conferred upon me. It came as a great surprise to me and I am afraid as a shock to others! I hope Edna will be there to receive an "honours" degree when I receive an "honorary" one. Her's will be a reward for hard work, mine for the pleasure I have had in doing the things I enjoyed. Best wishes to you both. Yours sincerely William Fehr." The dust jacket is very shelf rubbed, worn and marked, with tearing and creasing along the edges and a small chip out of the front. Despite this, it remains whole and legible. The boards are a touch warped, but remain strong and square. Internally, there is some surface damage to the front end page, and its opposite side features Frank Bradlow's ex-libris plate, and a warm inscription by Fehr. There is tanning and foxing throughout, but the pages remain legible and complete. Tightly bound and presents handsomely in cellophane. An important book and letter. JK.
