“The way I do things now is I don’t have a visual reference. I imagine things and put them down in the way one would encourage taking a passage from a story and drawing a scene. That’s how I snap things with my mental eye. I collect with the intention of going back, but I find I am impatient to revisit visual references. I would rather join them together from memory and with imagination. This way, they come out wonky; they are not at scale. If you look at them closely, they have very different personalities. There is no logical train of thought that is followed in one sitting, in one drawing. I harness everything that is within my reach for myself more than for anyone else, adapting to every provocation and with the seasons. Fitness collects a selection of Moshekwa Langa’s more recent drawings (2025) together with Polaroid pictures (1997/8) from when the artist was in residence at Rijksakademie.

The publication includes a hand-bound zine, an interview with the artist, and a sticker pack. A special edition of 10 features a signed Polaroid.
